about this guide
This resource guide provides an overview of navigating and filtering the Schedule Validation Dashboard. Built into UAccess, the dashboard displays all errors and warnings generated by logic-based rules for class sections that require validation.
The dashboard includes several filtering and sorting options, such as term and subject, to help users efficiently manage and review validation items. It allows users to identify sections within their academic organization that have triggered a rule, determine whether review is required, and track completion status.
Once a validation error or warning has been resolved, users can mark the item as complete. Any remaining errors or warnings will be reviewed as part of the overnight sync process. Any status updates generated by the system will appear after the next scheduled dashboard update.
To support accuracy and timely updates, automated weekly updates will be shared with Department Schedulers indicating when the outstanding errors on the Schedule Validation Dashboard require validation.
Note: Warnings automatically expire after 14 days and assigned an Auto-Expire status on the dashboard. Errors that are marked complete by a user but still fail validation will reappear on the Schedule Validation Dashboard until the issue is resolved.
Navigating the dashboard
editing and reviewing errors and warnings
Step 2: Once an error or warning has been reviewed or resolved, choose the most appropriate status by selecting the drop down.
Options include:
- Completed: Available for Errors or Warnings; select this status when the identified issue is resolved in the dashboard. Please note that if a row is marked as Complete but the underlying data does not satisfy the logic-based rule, a new row with a status of Not Reviewed will be created the next time the process runs.
- Override: Available for Warnings only; select this status to acknowledge the warning but have determined not to take action. This status option is helpful to declutter a user’s dashboard if they wish to leave warnings as they are. Warnings that are otherwise left as they are without a status update will auto-expire in 14 days.
Note: If an error or warning has been resolved but its status remains unchanged in the Schedule Validation Dashboard, it will be updated to System Completed during the next dashboard process update. Warnings that remain unresolved after 14 days will be automatically expired during a subsequent process update.
