All employees who must utilize student data to complete their job duties are required to complete FERPA training prior to accessing the data. The University provides two trainings: one for instructors and instructional support teams, and one for staff who do not fall under the first category. Please review the instructions below to learn how to register for each respective training.

FERPA Training for Instructors and Instructional Support Teams*

  1. Go to: FERPA Training for Instructors and Instructional Support Teams
  2. Log in with your NetID and password.
  3. Select the Register button.
  4. Select the Complete Registration button.
  5. Select Close on the message indicating that you have successfully registered. You will also receive an email confirmation of registration.
  6. Select Launch to begin the training. You may complete the training in one sitting or you may exit and return to it at a later time.

FERPA for Non-Instructors

  1. Go to: FERPA for Non-Instructors
  2. Log in with your NetID and password.
  3. Select the Register button.
  4. Select the Complete Registration button.
  5. Select Close on the message indicating that you have successfully registered. You will also receive an email confirmation of registration.
  6. Select Launch to begin the training. You may complete the training in one sitting or you may exit and return to it at a later time.
