DACA: Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals

DACA and other qualifying, non-citizen students may be eligible to receive the in-state tuition rate providing they meet the two requirements outlined in Arizona Proposition 308
The student attended any public or private high school or homeschool equivalent while physically present in Arizona for at least two years.
The student graduated from any public or private high school option or homeschool equivalent in Arizona or obtained a high school equivalency diploma in Arizona, i.e., a GED.

The University of Arizona defines DACA/Dreamer Applicants as:
  • Non-US citizens currently in the United States who do not hold an immigration or student visa
  • Individuals not defined as a permanent resident, asylee, or refugee
  • Brought to the US by parents or other relatives and were under age 16 at the time of arrival
  • May or may not have filed DACA paperwork with the U.S. Government
