• Multiple use of courses between the HDFS minor and another major or second minor is only permitted with the approval of the second major or minor. Examples include but are not limited to:
  • HDFS minor courses may apply toward requirements for the Nursing degree (HDFS 117 or HDFS 200).

Microbiology

• Microbiology permits up to 9 units of the major core coursework (28 units including 8 MIC Elective units) to be applied to another major or minor. 
• Supporting coursework may be applied to other majors, minors or certificates.
• For the Microbiology minor, up to 9 units may also apply to another major or minor.  

• For MIC Majors or Minors also completing VSC Majors/Minors, MIC 205A/205L or MIC 285R/L and ACBS/MIC 419 courses may be applied to both MIC and VSC academic plans.

Bachelor of Applied Science Majors (BAS)

• Applied Computing, Cyber Operations, and Intelligence and Information Operations programs do not allow double majors and double emphases among the three programs. Students can work with a CAST Academic Advisor if they want to submit an appeal. 
• Students who have completed the BAS core and declare a double major within CAST are not required to complete the BAS core again. 
• Double major and dual degree students must complete each program 498 Senior Capstone. The 498 Senior Capstone is required for all BAS degrees. 
• Multiple use of courses across emphasis areas is not permitted. All students must make up for inadvertent multiple use in the emphasis requirements by taking additional major elective credits.

• CAST minors may apply no more than two courses to another major or minor if the multiple use is approved by both departments/programs.

College of Information Science

• Permits up to 4 courses (approx. 12 units) from one of the College’s majors to apply to another major, minor, or degree, as long as the multiple use is approved by both departments. 
• Permits students enrolled in a minor offered by the College to apply no more than 2 courses of minor coursework to another major or minor, as long as the multiple use is approved by both departments.

• Some exemptions apply: Students with a double major in Bioinformatics can apply up to 6 courses (approx. 18 units) of coursework to both majors.

• Major and Minor coursework may not be applied to any other majors, minors or certificates outside of the college.
  • Possible exception: Students who complete a second degree may use courses from their first degree from the Eller College major in the Business Administration Minor for their second degree from another college.

• Thematic Minors in a second degree may apply PA, POL or LAW courses (e.g., BS-CJS Majors may apply courses from their thematic minor to a BA-Law Degree).
• Students completing ECON 200 for a minor or other major outside of SGPP may also use the course in the POL, PAF, PMPC, CJS, or LAW Major.
• For the Foreign Affairs Concentration in a POL Major,  the 5^th and 6^th semester language course(s) may be applied to the major, a second major/minor, and/or a certificate.
• Students who complete a double major in PAF/PMPC and CJS are permitted to apply PA 330, 331, 410 and 470 to both majors.

• Law Major – Several programs within the College of Social & Behavioral Sciences offer multiple use of courses with the Law Major; students should contact SGPP advising for further information regarding majors and courses available for multiple use.
