This resource guide provides instructions on grading students who have fulfilled an honors contract, as outlined in the Grading Students policy. The guide also provides information on grading honors sections.
GradING an honors SECTION
Departments may designate certain class sections as honors when building the Schedule of Classes. These honors sections are restricted to students who are active in the Honors College.
Students enrolled in an honors-designated class automatically receive honors credit upon earning a passing grade—no additional grading steps are required.
This differs from honors contracts, where instructors must assign a specific Requirement Designation (RD) on the grade roster to indicate that honors credit has been earned.

GRADING An honors contract student
Students who have engaged in an honors contract for a non-honors course require additional notation on the grade roster. Instructors use the grade roster to designate whether requirements are "Satisfied" or "Not Satisfied". Instructors edit the column before final approval, ensuring accurate recording of honors contract fulfillment, and access all relevant information conveniently on one tab.
