This guide is for departments or academic units that wish to waive a student's application fee for summer-only enrollment in summer programs or classes. A summer-only fee waiver can be offered to the student when the department covers the cost of the application fee. Students will not be matriculated until the department pays the application fee per the following process.
Application Fee Information
The application fee for an Undergraduate Summer-Only application is $50 per Arizona resident student, and $80 for a non-resident student. For additional details regarding application, payments, and refunds, please visit the university admission webpage.
Summer-only application availability
The Undergraduate Summer-Only Application is now open. We encourage all students to apply in the early spring to ensure timely processing. The deadline for UROC-specific programs is May 1st, and no additional applications will be accepted after this date. Students can access the application here:
application fee payment process
Once departments submit their list of students, an invoice will be created based on the billing program details. To track this process, the Office of the Registrar will set up a term-specific spreadsheet in Box. Departments needing access or wishing to add additional information, please contact gradservices@arizona.edu. Once the invoice is generated, it will be uploaded to the term-specific Box folder for department review.
NOTE: Each program will receive its own invoice that will include the Registrar’s Office account number, which can be used for direct payment. Departments are responsible for coordinating payments and balances with other programs as needed.
Classes that are cancelled or students who withdraw from the program will not result in an application fee refund.
admission & matriculation
Students will not be admitted until the invoice is paid. Once payment is processed, the Office of the Registrar will proceed to admit the student for the term. Departments should ensure that payments are made promptly to avoid delays in the admission process.
