At the University of Arizona, "complete withdrawal" refers to the formal process of unenrolling from all classes for a specific term and leaving the university. This differs from dropping or withdrawing from individual classes, as students who remain enrolled in at least one class are still considered registered for that term. The periods of time in which individual classes or all classes can be removed (e.g. through dropping, single class withdrawal, or complete withdrawal) from the student's schedule can be found in the term and session-specific Dates and Deadlines calendar.
Dropping a Class
Before the drop deadline as noted in the Dates and Deadlines calendar, a single class or all classes can be removed from a student's schedule by dropping the class or classes in UAccess Student Center. A class is considered dropped when it is removed during the drop period of each session within the term.
Dropped classes do not appear on the student transcript.

Withdrawing from a Class

Once the Complete Withdrawal from the Term is processed, a student may not enroll in any other classes within the term. After withdrawing from the term, a student can choose to return to the university for future terms or may have no intention of returning to the university.

Scholarships and Financial Aid
Depending on when you withdraw, you may be required to repay part or all the financial aid that was disbursed for the term. Withdrawing may also make you ineligible for aid in future semesters, even if you decide to continue your education at another institution. Bursar
A complete withdrawal from the term does not remove tuition and fees from a student’s account. Late fees will continue to accrue during the withdrawal process. Having a balance for tuition, fees, or other services on your Bursar’s account may make you financially ineligible to register for classes and/or obtain official transcripts.

Meal Plan
Students withdrawing from the University of Arizona are eligible to cancel their Meal Plan. Once your withdrawal is complete, you may submit your Cancelation Request online at the Meal Plans website. Cancelations will be refunded based on the date and usage at the time the request is approved. Please see the Cancellation Guidelines for details on the cancelation process.
Campus Recreation
After performing a complete withdrawal, you may be ineligible to use the facilities within Campus Recreation without paying a fee. For more information on Rec Center membership, contact Campus Recreation at 520‐621‐8702, or read about memberships on their website.
Parking and Transportation

Campus Housing
If you live in a dorm:
After performing a complete withdrawal, you will no longer be eligible to continue living in campus housing. You must see your RA or Community Director to properly check out of your room within 24 hours of completing your withdrawal. If you would like more information concerning release from your Housing License Agreement (housing contract), contact Housing and Residential Life at 520‐ 621‐6501 or housing@arizona.edu.
If you currently live in a fraternity or sorority house: Contact your house manager.
Campus Health and Counseling and Psych Services (CAPS)
Withdrawing from the University may make you ineligible to use the services provided by Campus Health or CAPS, but continuing your care after leaving the University is important. Call 520‐621‐9202 to discuss insurance, eligibility, and referrals.
Student Employment
If you are not enrolled in classes, you cannot be employed in a student job. If you have questions about the status of your on‐campus job, contact your employer.
Dean of Students
Students who withdraw from the University are not eligible to participate in the University’s Diversion Program. A withdrawal can result in registration holds being placed on your account or the transfer of your case back to the court system/referring agency for adjudication. Undergraduate students
Undergraduate students may return in the next major semester without having to re-apply if they meet the Back2UA requirements. Students may register online in accordance with the university priority registration schedule.
Undergraduate students who do not qualify for the Back2UA program (or no longer qualify for the program), and would like to return to the University of Arizona in the future, can reapply for admission to the university.
Graduate students
Graduate students must be enrolled each term, excluding Summer, in accordance with the Continuous Enrollment policy. Graduate students who do not intend to be enrolled for a required term but wish to continue their studies later should contact the Graduate College to request a leave of absence.
Graduate students who do not plan to enroll in the subsequent term, and do not have an approved leave of absence need to apply for readmission to the Graduate College through the online Graduate Admissions Application.
