The student qualifies under the Military Stationed Outside Arizona Exception if you meet all the requirements below:
- The student is a member of the US Armed Forces (includes AZ National Guard or Reserve) on active duty OR the student is the spouse or dependent of a member of the US Armed Forces (includes AZ National Guard or Reserve) on active duty.
- The military member is stationed outside of Arizona pursuant to military order.
- The military member’s home of record on their Leave and Earnings Statements (LES) indicates Arizona for at least twelve months prior to the last date of registration.
- The student must not hold a visa that prohibits establishing domicile in Arizona.
Additional Information
- The Military member claiming in-state status under this section will need to submit two Leave and Earnings Statements (LES) for the military member.
- Both LES documents should indicate Arizona as the military member's home of record and one statement should be recently obtained and the other statement should be from 12 months prior.
