This guide provides instructors with the necessary steps to document engagement activity on the grade roster, with a specific focus on classes incorporating a To Be Determined (TBD) engagement component. This guide assists instructors in customizing engagement for each student, ensuring accurate recording of activity and competency data. 

How to record engagement activity on the grade roster

Step 1: Click the Grade Roster in Progress icon for the class you want to view.

Step 2: In the Roster Grade column select the appropriate grade.

Note: Image is an example of a class with alternative grades.

Step 3: If a student is given a C or better (in a class with regular grades) or an S or P (in a class with alternative grades), a drop-down menu in the Engagement Activity and Engagement Competency columns will be visible.

Step 4: Under the Engagement Activity column select from the available drop-down menu.

Step 5: Under the Engagement Competency column select from the available drop-down menu.

Step 6: Click Save

Step 7: If you’re ready to post grades, update the Grade Roster Action to Approval Status of Approved

Step 8: Then click Save and Post.
