Academic Calendars

Academic calendars are established following Arizona Board of Regents (ABOR) policies and University of Arizona Faculty Senate guidelines. To facilitate planning University related activities such as conferences, retreats, university events for the public, etc., academic calendars are approved five years in advance. Academic Catalog & Policy is responsible for annually drafting the academic calendar, circulating the draft widely throughout the campus community to obtain feedback, and forwarding the proposed calendar to the Faculty Senate for approval. Once approved by Faculty Senate, academic calendars are forwarded to the Chief Academic Officers (ASU, NAU and UA) for review and to ABOR’s Academic Affairs Committee for final approval on behalf of ABOR. Once approved, any changes to first day of instruction and/or the last day of final examinations must be approved by ABOR at least one year in advance.
