Course Forms & Section Requirement Groups

Information regarding Dates at Deadlines for UA Course Forms and Section Requirements.

Submission for Route Start Priority

September 1, 2020 - forms submitted on or prior will be given priority for Curriculum Preview route start. 

**Forms submitted after 9/1/2020 will be reviewed as Curricular Affairs workload permits, but may be moved to the next available term based on Go Live and RCS Approval Deadlines, see below. 

Final Approval Status in the Course Route must be reached by:

Modify – September 30, 2020 to be applied to the Course Catalog before Go Live. 

Inactivate – September 30, 2020 to be applied to the Course Catalog before Go Live. 

Add (Winter) – December 20, 2020 to be applied to the Course Catalog before the Winter2020/2021 term start. 

Add (Spring) – January 12, 2021 to be applied to the Course Catalog before the Spring 2021 term start. 

Section Level Requirements

Must be emailed to catalog@arizona.edu by September 1, 2020. Section Level requirements sent after the deadline are reviewed as ACP workload permits.  Once the UA reaches Go Live, 10/1/2020, any new submissions will be moved to the next available term. 

Go Live  

October 1, 2021- Course Catalog and Schedule of Classes are live to campus and the public. 

**Modify and Inactivate forms not in the RCS Approval stage for final processing by the approval deadlines posted above, or not approved for a policy compliance exception, will be moved to the next available term. 

Start of Term

Winter 2020/2021- December 21, 2020

Spring 2021- January 13, 2021

**Add forms that reach RCS Approval for final processing after the first effective term requested begins the add will be moved to the next available term. 

Department Initiators, Please Note: 

  • Each approval stage (Curriculum Preview, Department, College, GRAD, GEN-ED, HNRS, Curriculum, Cross-list, and RCS Approval) all have differing review/meetings to approve or deny a course.  Please be sure that course forms are submitted as early as possible. 
  • Department Initiators are responsible for submitting and monitoring all course forms for their department. To assist with this duty the role of department initiator includes access to UA Course Management in UAccess, which allows any Course Management role to view and add comments to UA Course Add/Modify and Inactivate forms saved in UAccess.  Initiators will have access to create new forms as well as monitor saved forms.  
  • Initiators are the contact for their department's forms if there are objections or questions regarding the form submission.  Please note that careful review before submission and prompt responses to inquiries will decrease route times. 
  • If a department has questions on an approval stage the Department Course Initiator should contact the listed approver(s) listed on the course form route for the approval step in question.  

**UA, ABOR, or HLC policy compliance may necessitate the submission of a course form after a posted deadline (see General Catalog for policies). Forms seeking a policy compliance exception must have a comment posted to the form upon submission and will be reviewed with RCS and Curricular Affairs.

Add (Fall) – August 20, 2021 to be applied to the Course Catalog before the Fall 2021 term start

Section Level Requirements
