Verification of Degrees, Past Attendance and Enrollment
The University of Arizona has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse to provide enrollment and

Acting as our agent, the National Student Clearinghouse should be considered as a primary source provider. The services provided by the National Student Clearinghouse will be in full compliance with all applicable privacy laws and, in particular, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA).

Trying to decide when to use the National Student Clearinghouse and when to use the Registration and Transcripts Office for past attendance and enrollment verifications?
Use The National Student Clearinghouse for degree & past attendance if:
- You want to confirm that a degree was actually conferred on an individual.
- You want to confirm that an individual attended a particular school ("from" and "to" range of dates only)
- You want to find out about all of the degrees an individual has earned, including majors, minors, and honors.
Degree Verifications are typically used:
- By employers or background screening firms to verify resume information
- By graduate school admissions offices to verify undergraduate information
- To substantiate educational achievement when trying to obtain special work visas
- To re-verify the credentials of company officers in corporate mergers
- To prove eligibility for "recent college graduate" promotions
Use the Registration and Transcripts Office for enrollment verifications of current students if:
- You are trying to verify the enrollment status of a current student (e.g. full-time, part-time, etc.)
- You want to verify the grade point average (GPA) of a currently enrolled student. (Requires written authorization from the student)
- You are inquiring about prior enrollment status or attendance dates
Current Enrollment Verification is typically used:
- By parents needing to prove that their 19-year-old+ children are enrolled full-time in a college or university so as to maintain their eligibility for medical insurance coverage
- By credit card issuers who want to check that the people receiving college credit card promotional offers are in fact enrolled in school
- By non-U.S. students who must have regular confirmation of enrollment sent to their embassy or consulate
- By parents wanting to obtain "Good Student Driver" discounts for their children
- By students wanting course completion and final grade reporting to employers for tuition re-imbursement
