Degree Certification Procedures for Undergraduate Students in the College of Engineering

You should apply for degree candidacy in Room 200 of the Engineering Building one semester before you plan to graduate (e.g. during the Fall 2004 semester for a May 2005 graduation).

You will fill out an Application for Degree Candidacy and will be given an instruction sheet and a Senior Degree Check Adjustment Form.   You will then need to print out a copy of your SAPR (Student Academic Progress Report) through Student Link.

Make an appointment with your advisor, preferably after you register for your final semester course work.  Bring the adjustment form and a current SAPR to your appointment.

Your advisor will make any necessary adjustments on your adjustment form.  He/she will then send the adjustment form to the Engineering Dean's Office, where it will be signed by the Dean.  The form is then forwarded to Marty Gawlik, Graduation Services Advisor for the College of Engineering.  A $35 fee will be charged to your Bursar's Office account.

A final audit of your records is done to ensure that you have completed all requirements for your degree.  Any questions that arise are directed to the college Dean's Office and the major advisor.  If necessary, they will contact you.  Feel free to contact your Graduation Services Advisor if you have any questions about your degree audit.
