Expedited Course Modifications
Departments may submit certain types of course modifications in an expedited format using a spreadsheet via email instead of the Course Management Form process. This expedited process will only be allowed during the Open Scheduling period for the term. The deadline for submitting the expedited form (including all signatories) is the end date of the Open Scheduling period for the term. After that date all modifications for that term must go through the Course Management process.
Changes must be submitted on the spreadsheet below, attached to an email containing the approval of all signatories (including the Department and College Approvers for the department of record and the approvers for any crosslistings). The From and/or CC line of the email address must contain all signatories. The email must be sent to -- and a reply received from -- each of the signatories. Any comments should be sent as Reply All so that each signatory is informed of the comments of all other signatories. Once all signatories have replied with approval of the modifications, the email containing the spreadsheet and all of the approvals may be sent to Room and Course Scheduling for processing.
Below is a list of the types of changes that are allowed for this format. All other changes will not be processed using this form, and must be submitted using the normal Course Management process.
Course Modifications Approved for use with the Expedited Course Modification Process
Full Course Title: For cosmetic changes (e.g. fixes to typos) only.
Course Description: For cosmetic changes (e.g. fixes to typos) only.
Allow Multiple Enroll in Term: Adding or deleting the ability of a student to enroll in multiple offerings of a course in a term- only for courses already listed as repeatable for credit.
Course requisite(s): For cosmetic changes to text only: for cases where an existing prerequisite has had a change in catalog number. Not for adding or removing prerequisites.
Special Exam: Adding the ability for a department to offer a course via special exam, either for a grade and credit or for credit only. These options are not available for graduate credit.
Course Typically Offered: Updating the semester(s) in which a course is usually offered.
