Automatic Payment Plan Process

Beginning in the Spring 2009 semester and continuing thereafter, The University of Arizona will discontinue the process of cancelling registrations for students who have unpaid tuition charges. If you have unpaid tuition or other education related charges as of close of business on February 4, 2009, you will automatically be enrolled in a payment plan.  The University of Arizona’s Payment Plan allows students to spread their tuition payments over 3 installments per semester. There is a $75.00 per semester non-refundable enrollment fee for this service.

If you do not want to be enrolled in the automatic payment plan, simply pay your account in full by September 4, 2009. You can also sign-up now for the payment plan. If you received aid, scholarships or assistantships your account has been coded to prevent you from being enrolled in a payment plan. (This is called a Fee Deferment and the status can be viewed on Student Link on the Account Balance page.)

The auto-payment plan process will be easier and create less anxiety for students. However, students should carefully monitor their schedule and their Bursar’s account and drop any classes that they do not intend to take as soon as possible. This will prevent unnecessary charges and will assist the university in maximizing classroom seat availability. Students are ultimately responsible for their course registrations and any resulting charges.
